Actor or famous? how was Viral Girl Monalisa selected for a film

How did they decide to hire the Instagram girl (from kumbh mela) for a film? Is fame the only thing needed for directors to choose an actor? Perhaps they did take her audition, and it turned out she was a natural artist who can bring about the emotions they were looking for, but I think it wasn’t that. After the film is made, there is a lot of pressure regarding success of the film. People like to see the faces they already know in most cases like already established actors who they already know and want to see them play different roles. If someone is famous on Instagram meaning the followers want to see them more.

Have the new age directors identified the fact that people will forgive bad performance if the person playing is a famous personality? And if that is the case then it would just fail to delight someone who wants to see real acting.

Actors who practice different emotions at least few days a week, sometimes daily, when they do not have a film may take this as a competition they will never overcome with their talent. I know good actors willing to just sit or stand or play dead in films or series for few bucks. I think casting like this will not make them happy.

We have seen bad actors who got chosen for their fame (or blood relation) do terrible in a great film, basically ruining the whole thing. I’m not sure if that will still work but I think the selectors here must be knowing something for investing big on just Instagram fame.
